The storm was beating against the boat. The wind was howling, the waves were crashing, and the disciples were terrified. Jesus was nowhere to be found. Except Jesus was there, walking on the water! Then, after saving Peter from drowning, He got into the boat, and the storm calmed down. An amazing sight to witness!

After seeing Jesus calm the storm, walk on water, and, earlier in the day, feed thousands of people with five loaves of bread and two fish, the Bible records these words: “Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God.’”
What was the response of the disciples? They worshiped Jesus! When God moves, the proper response is worship.

How did the disciples worship? Did they sing a song or take up an offering? Nope. They simply acknowledged Jesus for who He was, the son of God. Sometimes when things are against us and difficult, we forgot who Jesus is. We forget that He is enough, and that He is still God. There is tremendous power in recognizing Jesus for who He is, especially when things are challenging.

When the storms blow, declare your worship: “Jesus is the son of God!”
When life is dark, declare your worship: “Jesus is the son of God!”
When there are more bills than paycheck, declare your worship: “Jesus is the son of God!”
When you’re scared, declare your worship: “Jesus is the son of God!”
When life doesn’t make sense, declare your worship: “Jesus is the son of God!”

In worship we declare who God is and remind ourselves that He is enough!

Worshiping God with you,
Pastor Kenneth
