We’re excited to have Jose Hernandez as a candidate for the Children’s Pastor position! Jose came to know Jesus through God’s grace and has a deep passion for Scripture, prayer, discipleship, and the local church. He brings many years of ministry experience, serving in children’s and youth ministry, preaching, pastoral support, VBS, and church leadership. Jose especially believes that children’s ministry is discipleship and that the church has a vital role in supporting families and reaching the community with the love and message of Jesus. He is passionate about helping children and families grow in Christ, equipping volunteers, serving alongside the pastoral team, and helping Parkgate fulfill its mission of knowing Jesus and making Him known.
Jose, his wife, Yorleidis, and their daughter, Grace, will be with us for Candidate Weekend on September 19–20. He’ll meet with the Leadership Team and staff, and on Sunday he will teach in KiX. After church on Sunday, the 20th (note the new time), we’ll have a Q&A from 12:15-1:15. After the weekend, you will have a week to let Pastor Kenneth know any thoughts, questions, or concerns you may have before making a final decision.
