Make it Matter
Series: The Gift
There’s something exciting about the idea of a brand-new year, isn’t there? It’s a clean slate, a blank page, a fresh start – insert your own cliché here – a chance to make things new. What would it look like if you prioritized your relationship with Jesus Christ above everything else this year?

    Series: The Gift
Conflict is real! No one can change that. There is nothing you can do to make yourself conflict proof. But in Christ, you can have peace in your life despite any conflict that may come your way. In fact, because of the gift of peace with God, we can seek peace with others.

    Giving Yourself Away
    Series: The Gift
Everyone knows what self-centeredness looks like. Jesus was the exact opposite of that! He gave Himself away for us. Because Jesus gave to us, we are now eternally happy in God. He removes our self-centeredness. He becomes our true satisfaction. The natural fruit of that wonderful gift is to live for the glory of God.

    The Problem with Satisfaction
    Series: The Gift
Our world says satisfaction is found in a pursuit of happiness, but happiness is such a moving target. Christianity says satisfaction is found in a life that glorifies God, but people think that means a decidedly unhappy life. Both options seem bad, but those aren’t true options. The Bible says you can’t have one without the other. True happiness is found in the gift of Jesus, which naturally produces a life that brings glory to God.

THE GIFT

Christmas is a favorite time of year for most of us. It’s a season of joy and good cheer, family reunions, and wonderful food. But, Christmas is also a time of pain. Loneliness and depression hit their highest points during the holiday season. Family dysfunctions become more evident despite attempts to soothe relationships during the holidays. It makes people want to ask, “Is this all there is?” And the Bible’s answer is an emphatic NO! The Christmas story reminds us that the simple, and free Gift of Jesus can change everything.

Lost and Found
Series: 500
It's funny that Zacchaeus' story is widely remembered only for being the theme of a children's song. It's so much more than that! In these ten short verses, we are presented with a clear picture of the mission of Jesus Christ and our mission as believers. After all, we weren't made to be lost. We were made to be found.

    Christ ALONE
    Series: 500
It’s easy to believe that Jesus is essential for salvation. You can love His teachings. You can admire the example He set with the good deeds He did. But if Jesus is just essential, then there is more that needs to be done. There is something you have to do to ensure that you are right with God. The good news, however, is that Jesus isn’t just essential, He is sufficient for salvation. Because of Jesus nothing more can be done or needs to be done.

    Faith ALONE
    Series: 500
Christians say that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, but then we easily get off track. We put all kinds of false metrics on faith, thinking we have to achieve some high score for it to count, but faith isn’t quantified like that. Faith is about the object -Jesus. As Christians, we have imperfect faith, but it’s placed in a perfect Jesus . . . and that is enough.

    Grace ALONE
    Series: 500
Jesus provided the solution for sin at the cost of His life. So we don’t have to be afraid of death, hell and God’s judgment anymore. And He did that for us free of charge. God LOVES us through grace! God SAVES us by grace! God KEEPS us in grace! It’s ONLY and ALL by grace with God!

500

God moved in miraculous ways in the lives of pastors and average Christians and the spiritual foundations of the world shook 500 years ago. With that, the Protestant Reformation began. People are still being shaken every time they come into contact with the powerful truth that we’re saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone. Maybe God wants to shake you!

    STRONG Service
    Series: Strong
Lots of people serve others, but the motivation and the heart of service is different for a Christian. Christians don’t serve to get right with God or to get God in their debt. They don’t serve to be thanked by others, to solve the world’s problems or even to make themselves feel good. A Christian who has exchanged their weakness for Jesus’ strength serves others in Jesus’ name to bring glory to God. That is their greatest joy!

    STRONG Training
    Series: Strong
It’s true that God cares more about our character than He does our happiness. However, the most critical way that our character is formed in Christ is to find our ultimate joy in God and the things of God. And when you find it, you fight for it. That is why we train ourselves in godliness.

    STRONG Learning
    Series: Strong
The Bible is the most translated and published book in human history. It is also the book that has received more criticism and scrutiny than any other book in history . . . and still remains. It’s everywhere! Sadly, in many cases, we ignore it. But it’s a key part of our life in relationship with God. As we look at the second part of Chair Time, we’ll see that you can’t live a life in union and communion with Jesus without a life submitted to God’s Word.

    STRONG Rest
    Series: Strong
Too many of our lives look like a human version of the game of Jenga. We remove the blocks . . . stack the new layers . . . and hope everything doesn’t fall on our turn. Sadly, we have gotten used to this and think it’s normal. It’s not normal. And it’s definitely missing the wonderful and true rest God has gifted us in Christ! In this message we will come to see what that true rest is, where it is found, and how we can enjoy this wonderful gift from God.

    True Strength
    Series: Strong
We try everything to appear STRONG, but if you look just below the surface we are really very WEAK! The question isn’t whether or not we are WEAK, but what we will do about it! Our human attempts at strength only mask our weakness. True strength is found only in a new identity in Jesus Christ that He made possible at the cost of His life and offers to you.

Strong

Everyone wants to be STRONG or at least appear STRONG, but in reality we are really very WEAK in our own strength . . . all of us! But the good news of the Gospel is that Jesus offers us His STRENGTH in exchange for our WEAKNESS. Our weakness doesn’t scare God and it’s not too much for Him to handle. If we will come to Jesus in our WEAKNESS – in brokenness, humility and trusting faith – then he will inhabit our lives with His STRENGTH. And we will build our lives on His STRENGTH through the gracious ways he has provided us through sabbath rest, prayer, His Word, community and service in His name.

It won’t make all of our problems go away. But as we face them we won’t be doing so in our STRENGTH anymore, but with the power of the cross of Christ. That is true STRENGTH that transforms our lives.

Looking Up
Everybody LOOKS UP to something . . . which means everybody TRUSTS in something . . . which means everybody WORSHIPS something! That’s a reality every day, but we hardly ever notice as we go about our normal lives. Then a crisis hits and exposes the truth to us. In the midst of the calm or even a treacherous storm, the most important question is: Who do you LOOK UP to?

Not only do God’s original intentions determine everything that follows, His plan is right on track as He works through Jesus to restore His damaged creation – all of it. As God’s people, you and I have a part to play in God’s project, as we pursue true life in Christ.
