The Man Who Had to Wait for Christmas

Through the life of an often unnoticed Christmas character named Simeon, we discover that  God is always at work, even if we have to wait (Luke 2:25-28),  God always keeps His promises, even if it takes time (Luke 2:29-32), and God always has a plan, even if we don’t see it (Luke 2:33-35).

    I Don’t Know and I Don’t Care
Christianity isn’t just about knowing things. Many of us have been taught a paradigm that suggests the more we know, the more spiritual or mature we are. Knowledge is undoubtedly important, but it’s not enough. We have to act on it; we must do something with it. John Maxwell said, “Most Christian are educated way beyond their level of obedience.” We don’t need more knowledge; we need more obedience.

    Following God Through Questions

Many of our problems regarding the destruction of the Canaanites come from the fact that God hates sin, but we do not. We don’t take the depth and cost of sin seriously. We don’t appreciate how sin destroys and kills. Sin is responsible for doing the most horrific act in history anyone can do; it separates us from God. Anything that separates us from God is a massive problem. We often view sin much differently than God does.

    Haran: The Place of Decision
Everyone loves a fun family road trip — and in the USA, there are so many great places to visit. This week, our church family is going to take a Biblical “road trip” to the fascinating location of ancient Ur and Haran. We will discover the patriarch Abram and learn about his world-shaping decision. We’ll also get a picture of how we can make good decisions, too.

    Losing Our Marbles
In his farewell address to the Israelites, Joshua challenged the people to choose this day who their family would serve. Many of us claim that our family serves the Lord, but our actions indicate otherwise. The next generation is watching. Time is of the essence. So what can we do? Strategize faith development, own our roles, make Sunday a non-negotiable, and come before God in total surrender.

    Faith through Trails and Temptations

    Being Called by God
God is not looking for extraordinary people. He is looking for ordinary people who will trust an extraordinary God. If you will let Him, an extraordinary God will light a holy fire in your heart to be an agent of His deliverance today.

There’s No Such Thing as Personal Holiness Without Social Holiness
Holy to be Wholly His Whenever there is injustice or evil anywhere in the world, it should matter to the people of God. Jesus' gift of holiness gives us a heart to fight for it to be visible anywhere in the world where you can't see it yet.

True Holiness Cannot Remain with You
God made you holy to be wholly His, but that holiness never stays with you! It always overflows from you to others. Because he has changed your heart, you definitely are not the same and you definitely cannot be silent.
