Kenneth J. Spiller
Lead Pastor
As Lead Pastor, Kenneth is committed to serving Jesus Christ through building God’s Kingdom, shepherding His people, preaching His Word, and reaching out to a world in need.
Kenneth is married to Arielle. They have two sons, Michael and David.
Kenneth enjoys playing the guitar, spending time with loved ones, board games, and reading. Kenneth also enjoys writing and published Journey of a Worshiper in 2016.
Kenneth is currently a seminary student at the Anderson University School of Theology. He has a B.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Mid-America Christian University and was ordained by Church of God Ministries in 2010.
Kenny Boggs
Associate Pastor for Worship & Spiritual Life
Kenny provides leadership for worship ministry and spiritual life opportunities for adults at Parkgate.
Kenny is married to Danielle (Danny), who he met at Parkgate. They have two sons, Trey and Beckett.
Kenny is passionate about his marriage and fatherhood. He is an avid Houston Astros fan. Kenny has been playing the guitar since he was 15 years old. He also enjoys traveling with his wife.
Prior to his role at Parkgate, Kenny served at multiple churches in both lay and staff leadership roles. Kenny is currently enrolled at Mid-America Christian University and is in the Church of God Ministries ordination process.
Daniel Walker
Associate Next Generation Pastor
Daniel has a heart and passion for youth and young adult ministries and enjoys working with volunteers who share his passion. Daniel’s goal is to build a safe and encouraging environment where he can help students cultivate thriving relationships with Christ and commit to making more disciples.
Daniel and his wife, Amy, have been married since early 2021.
Daniel uses his “nerdy” interests, such as Marvel, Star Wars, and video games to help connect with youth and young adults. He also enjoys woodworking and 3D printing.
Daniel is an online student with Christian Leaders College and will soon enroll at Mid-America Christian University. He is ordained through Christian Leaders Alliance and will pursue ordination through Church of God Ministries as well.
Vicki Junck
Director of Truth & Light Ministry
Vicki is a licensed professional counselor and marriage and family therapist. She directs Truth & Light Ministry, which provides counseling services free of charge to our church community.
Vicki has one daughter, Kara, who works for a charity in Europe.
Vicki enjoys food with friends, movies, jigsaw puzzles, and collecting very tiny nativity sets.
Vicki has an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clear Lake. She was ordained by Church of God Ministries in 2014.
Shirley Votaw
Office Manager & Bookkeeper
As the Office Manager and Bookkeeper, Shirley answers the phone and door; manages calendars, keys, papers, supplies, spreadsheets, and money; and assists the pastoral staff with various other administrative tasks.
Shirley is married to John. They have three adult children. Their two sons live in Oklahoma with their wives. Their daughter, Kimi, is one of our drummers at Parkgate.
Shirley loves needlework and sewing. She also enjoys books, writing, shells, the ocean, sailing, most dogs, and old houses.
Shirley has her B.S.B.A. in accounting from the University of Houston.
Danette Lawson
Director of HeartTouch Ministry
Danette serves as a volunteer staff member, overseeing the HeartTouch Ministry. HeartTouch exists to encourage church members who are hospitalized or homebound due to health limitations.
Danette has been married to Kim for over 40 years. They have two grown children – Peter, of Pasadena, Texas, and Lauren, of Searcy, Arkansas.
Danette loves music, reading, writing, graphic design, theater, and crochet.
Danette has her B.A. in Music and Education from Harding University. She has lifetime certifications as a teacher and childcare director and was ordained at Burke Road Church of Christ.
Kyle Atkins
Intern through Trellis Churches
Kyle is an intern with us as a part of the Trellis program. As a part of the program, Kyle is gaining an understanding of what it looks like to serve in a variety of ministry areas, though his principle focus is in worship. Kyle plays on our worship team and assists with behind-the-scenes tasks during the week. As he puts it, “The most important thing I do is learn how to minister to God’s people and learn how to lead them towards His Kingdom.”
Kyle lives with his parents and younger brother.
Kyle enjoys singing, playing the guitar and drums, and being around the people he loves. He enjoys finding ways to serve others and spending quality time with family and friends.
Kyle has his A.A.S. from San Jacinto College and is currently enrolled at Mid-America Christian University.
